【摘要】:hispracticeisintendedtodefinetheexposureconditionsofplasticsatvarioustemperatureswhenexposedsolelytohotairforextendedperiodsoftime.Onlytheproceduresforheatexposurearespecified,notthetestmethodorspecimen.Theeffectofheatonanyparticularpropertymaybedeterminedbyselectionoftheappropriatetestmethodandspecimen;however,itisrecommendedthatPracticeD3826beusedtodeterminetheembrittlementendpoint,whichisdefinedasthatpointinthehistoryofamaterialwhen75%ofthespecimenstestedhaveatensileelongationatbreakof5%orlessataninitialstrainrateof0.1mm/mmmin.Thispracticeshouldbeusedasaguideforcomparingthethermal-agingcharacteristicsofmaterialsasmeasuredbythechangeinsomepropertyofinterest(thatis,embrittlementbymeansoflossofelongation).ItisverysimilartoPracticeD3045butisintendedforuseinevaluatingplasticsdesignedtobeoxidizedeasilyafteruse.TheexposuretimesusedforthispracticewillbesignificantlyshorterthanthoseusedforPracticeD3045.Thetypeofovenusedcanaffecttheresultsobtainedfromthispractice.Theusercanuseoneoftwomethodsforovenexposure.Theresultsbasedononemethodshouldnotbemixedwiththosebasedontheother.ProcedureA:Gravity-ConvectionOven-Recommendedforfilmspecimenshavinganominalthicknessnotgreaterthan0.25mm(0.010in.).ProcedureB:Forced-VentilationOven-Recommendedforspecimenshavinganominalthicknessgreaterthan0.25mm(0.010in.).Thispracticerecommendsproceduresforcomparingthethermalagingcharacteristicsofmaterialsatasingletemperature.Recommendedproceduresfordeterminingthethermalagingcharacteristicsofamaterialataseriesoftemperaturesforthepurposeofestimatingtimetoadefinedpropertychangeatsomelowertemperaturearealsodescribed.Thispracticedoesnotpredictthermalagingcharacteristicswhereinteractionsbetweenstress,environment,temperature,andtimecontrolfailure.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1-ThereisnoISOstandardthatisequivalenttothisstandard.
