【摘要】:Theprocessofcoilingwirecausesthewiretotakeonacurvaturefromtheprocessofbeingmechanicallydeformedintoacoiledgeometry.Thecurvatureinthewireispermanentunlessthewireisstraightened.Itwillaffecthowthecoiledwirewillreactwhenitissubjectedtoadditionalwireformingoperations.Inaddition,residualstressesinducedfromthecoilingoperationcancauseelasticrecoilorspringbackinsubsequentwireformingoperationsunlessthematerialisstraightenedandstressrelievedpriortoforming.Theseresidualstressescancreatewidevariationsinthedimensionsofcomponentsandorpartsthathavebeenbuiltusingthecoiledwire(cast).Thedirectionthatthewirehasbeencoiledaffectshowthewirewillbetakenoffofthecoilforsubsequentwireformingoperations(helixdirection).Liftorspacingbetweenadjacentcoilsalsoaffectshowthewirewillbetakenoffofthecoilandcanalsoaffectthedimensionsofcomponentsandorpartsthathavebeenbuiltusingthecoiledwireduetoresidualstresses(helix).1.1Thistestmethodcoversthevariousstandardmethodsthatareusedformeasuringcamber,cast,helix,andhelixdirection.Thewiremaybecoiledwithorwithoutaspool.1.2Thistestmethodappliestoroundwirethathasadiameterbetween0.0127to4.78mm(0.0005to0.188in.).Italsoappliestoflatorshapedwire.1.3Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytosuperelasticnitinolwire.Itdoesapplytotheas-drawnconditionofnitinolwire.1.4Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytothemeasurementofthestraightnessofstraightenedtolengthwireandtubing.1.5ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
