【摘要】:Microbialgrowthisamajorcauseofdiscolorationanddeteriorationofpaintfilms.Thisguidedescribestechniquesusedtodistinguishfungiandalgaefromothersurfacecontaminants.Repaintingasurfacecontaminatedwithfungioralgaegenerallycausesmorerapidinfestationofthenewpaintthanrepaintingasurfacefromwhichfungaloralgalgrowthhasbeenremoved.Inaddition,pooradhesion,staining/bleeding,andmanyotherproblemsmayresult.Thisguidedescribesmethodsforremovingfungaloralgalgrowthpriortorepainting.Note18212;Itisextremelyimportantthatallstepsandnotesbereadandfollowed.Inparticularthewashingstepsoutlinedin5.2.2and5.2.4mustbefullycarriedout,sinceresidualsodiumhypochlorite(bleach)cancausemanyofthesameproblems,orevenlossofcolorationafterrepainting,andresidualphosphatedetergentscanencouragefurtherfungalandalgalgrowth.Note28212;Thisprocedureisintendedforusewhenrecoatingthesurface.Reportsofusingthisproceduretoremovefungiandalgaewithoutrecoatingnecessitateinclusionofawarningabouttheadverseeffectsofbleachonacoatingfilm.Theoxidativeeffectsofbleachcandegradefilmproperties,includingparticularlythex201C;bleachingx201D;(lossofcolor)infilmscontainingorganiccoloringpigments(suchasquinacridones,etc.),lossofgloss,chalking,etc.Asmallpatchmustbetestedpriortouseofthisprocedureforthatpurpose.1.1Thisguidedescribestechniquesusedfordeterminingthepresenceoffungaloralgalgrowthonpaintandrelatedcoatingsandmethodsforremovalofsuchgrowthpriortorecoating.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
